Marrton founded Everyday
Epics, formerly known as Sharing Their Story, in
2009. Through EverydayEpics.com, Marrton shares "the story of
need" from around the world through fresh monthly content,
including profiles, features, a month-in-review and commentary on
current events. He also helps facilitate a variety of on-the-ground
projects in and around his hometown of Broomfield, Colo., and puts
together practical tool kits for people who want to begin to
write themselves into the story of human suffering. He considers it
an obligation as well as a privilege to attempt to tell that side
of the story of need.
He also considers it a privilege to tell stories of communities,
families and individuals who are not content to let their neighbors
suffer or leave solutions solely up to others. Instead, they pour
their time, talents and treasure into efforts to understand and
address their neighbors' more tangible needs, even as they
routinely discover they themselves are transformed in the
process.
Marrton and his wife, Angela, served for 10 years as campus
ministers in New Mexico and Colorado, and in Barcelona, Spain,
where Marrton wrote On the Way, a short
book for seekers that interweaves fiction, history and the story of
Jesus. In addition to her part-time job as a teacher, Angela is a
passionate volunteer advocate for orphans and HIV education.
The Dormishes have four kids: Maegan, Ryan, Addison and Anthony.
When he's not wrestling with his kids, reading or following sports,
Marrton enjoys packing up his fly rod and exploring the small
creeks along Colorado's Front Range.
