IPL Leadership
Our ministry focus for the last 45 years has been equipping the next generation of leaders. Together, Laurie and I stayed committed to the process of multiplying discipleship; as Paul writes in 2 Timothy 2:2, “The things you’ve heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men and women who be able to teach others.” We believe leaders make a difference, and the church can make a stronger impact if properly led.
In the past, one of our primary venues for leadership development and multiplication has been our conferences at Gettysburg - see ~[The High Ground at Gettysburg](http://thehighgroundatgettysburg.org/)~. For over 25 years, we’ve had over 2,000 leaders go through the training. Taking place on a historical battlefield, these conferences have enabled us to create an experiential learning venue to prepare leaders for the spiritual battle. In doing so, we’ve found ways to equip leaders in both gospel courageous and gospel corrective ways. We are currently capturing much of the conference on video for online learning ([Leaders at Gettysburg](https://www.americastudios.com/films/leaders-at-gettysburg))
Over these years, we have also developed an experiential model of leadership development and storytelling that we believe can be adapted to other historic venues — such as Valley Forge, The 54th Mass at the Battle of Fort Wagner near Charleston, SC, Normandy to the Battle of the Bulge, and even to the struggle for Civil Rights from Memphis to Atlanta.
In the years of ministry remaining, we’d love to help equip “history’s storytellers for King and Kingdom.”
While we spent the last 25 years teaching leadership principles from the physical battlefield, I’ve begun looking at the Agrarian Way of Leadership. In the future, Lord willing, I’ll continue to write and teach lessons drawn from the battlefield and now from the farm field. I’m currently writing and collecting leadership reflections at [jaylorenzen.substack.com](http://jaylorenzen.substack.com/).
We are also preparing for publication, a devotional collection of 365 leadership lessons learned from the battlefield and other places of liminality.
We believe being members of Global Service Associates will enable us to focus and broaden our commitment to leadership development and the publication of helpful material.
We recently attached a meeting space for small leadership teams at our Lake George, Colorado home. Leadership teams from various non-profits have already used it, and we plan to continue to use our time encouraging men and women from all walks of life to be faithful to what God is teaching them and then teach them to others.
